Dantewada District, October 1, 2023: Five cadres of the CPI (Maoist), including a militia commander, were arrested in Chhattisgarhâs Dantewada district, an official said on Sunday.
The Maoists taken into custody by security forces were identified as Ayata Korram, alias Hadma, Bheema Hemla, Deva Hemla, Deva Kowasi and Masa Madkam, the official said.
The five Maoist cadres were detained during an anti-Maoist operation by the 15th battalion of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force on Saturday, said Dantewada Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai.
Korram was the Maoist partyâs Nilawaya Panchayat militia commander, while Bheema Hemla was its Jantana Sarkarâ member.
Deva Hemla, Kowasi and Madkam were âmilitia, DAKMS (Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisan Mazdoor Sangthan) and Sanghamâ members, respectively of the CPI (Maoist), he said.
