STATUS OF SATURDAY UNEMPLOYED & WORKERS RIGHTS CLINIC – WE WILL RESUME REGULAR SATURDAY’S JANUARY 8, 2022

Because of Omicron we are requesting everyone to wear a mask (preferably a N95 or KN95, we will have KN95’s at the door if you need a mask).  This is for your protection and ours.  It is necessary so that we can continue the Saturday clinic’s.

We will be social distancing & if the weather permits we will hold the clinic in front of the office.

Please join us on Saturday’s from 12 noon to 2 pm for the “Unemployed & Workers Rights Clinic” at 2011 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21218.  You do not need to make an appointment just show up.  Volunteers will help you with filing on overpayments and will  help sign you up for the legal case.

LEGAL UPDATE

The Unemployed Workers Union is embracing a new legal strategy since our earlier lawsuit was dismissed on a technicality. Instead of a class action, we are filing a “Writ of Mandamus” petition in circuit court. This petition is for individuals whose unemployment payments are “on hold” or “pending identity verification.” In this case we want as many plaintiffs as possible. The goal of this legal strategy is to force Tiffany Robinson and the Department of Labor to process our grievances and pay workers.

You can reach out to pro bono attorney Alec Summerfield at
[email protected]

Please attend our Saturday clinics at noon where you will be able to sign onto the “Writ of Mandamus”.

Clinics are located at 2011 N. Charles St, Baltimore, Md, 21218 from 12 noon to 2 pm.
